Terms of Service

By using ASCIICam ("the app", "the service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What ASCIICam Is

ASCIICam is a browser-based application that uses your device's camera to generate real-time ASCII art. All processing occurs locally on your device. We provide the software; you provide the creativity.

2. Accounts

You need a free account to use ASCIICam. When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide a valid email address
• Keep your password secure
• Not create accounts for other people without their permission
• Not create multiple accounts to abuse free-tier limits

We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

3. Your Content

You own everything you create with ASCIICam. Photos, videos, ASCII art — it's all yours. We claim no ownership or license over your content. Since all processing happens on your device, we never have access to your content in the first place.

4. Pro Subscription

ASCIICam Pro is a monthly subscription at $2.99/month that unlocks additional features including extra filters, video recording, HD export, and watermark removal.

• Billing — you will be charged monthly through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled.
• Cancellation — you may cancel at any time. You'll retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period.
• Refunds — if you're unhappy with Pro, contact us within 7 days of your first payment for a full refund. After that, we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
• Price changes — we may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price increase takes effect.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code
• Interfere with the app's operation or other users' access
• Use automated tools to access the service (scraping, bots, etc.)

6. Availability

We aim to keep ASCIICam available at all times, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The app depends on your browser, device camera, and internet connection. We may take the service offline for maintenance with reasonable notice when possible.

7. Limitation of Liability

ASCIICam is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim
• We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or that results will meet your expectations

8. Intellectual Property

The ASCIICam name, logo, and application code are our property. You may not use our branding without permission. The ASCII art filters, algorithms, and interface design are proprietary. This does not affect your ownership of content you create using the app (see Section 3).

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
